Borders are the best thing that can happen to you. Without borders, there would be no challenge. - In the creation and production of high-quality products for winter sports, the HEAD brand is constantly challenged by the demands of sport to cross boundaries. Clothing and equipment are constantly being improved so that professionals and recreational players can improve their performance.
Howard Head first appeared on skis in 1947, when the aircraft engineer was anything but enthusiastic about the winter sports experience. He was sure that a lighter, faster and more comfortable ski would quickly increase his enthusiasm. Since this ski didn't exist at that time, Head set to work himself and created one prototype after the other for three years. With its plywood core, aluminium sandwich panels, plastic sidewalls and a continuous steel edge, the revolutionary first HEAD ski finally glided across the piste.
Suddenly everyone could ski with him. Today the brand offers skis for every snow preference and every skill level. With the Worldcup Rebels or the Supershape line speed riders get their money's worth. The well-known ski racers and Olympic champions Kjetil Jansrud (Norway) and Matthias Mayer (Austria) are under contract with HEAD. Developed together with top athletes, the Performanceski satisfy the addiction to speed. Allrounders who feel at home on the piste as well as in small deep snow fields should rather reach for the Monster or the Strong Instinct. With the KORE line, friends of the backcountry can experience stable and at the same time nimble driving pleasure in powder.
AT A GLANCE
Foundation Year: 1950
Company Founder: Howard Head
Company Headquarters: Amsterdam (Netherlands), Kennelbach (Austria)
Professional Input: Ski racers and freeriders are consulted in the development of new products.
Technology: Efficient material combinations and functional designs offer the best performance.
For Hobby & Professional Sports: HEAD offers sports essentials for every training level.
In order to find innovative solutions for the optimal skiing experience, HEAD's product developers concentrate on the essentials: Reducing to the essentials and dispensing with unnecessary ballast lead the way to new material combinations, product shapes and designs in the ski sector. This applies not only to the skis themselves, but also to ski boots and equipment such as ski helmets or suitable ski clothing. In the freeride sector, for example, Graphene, the world's lightest known material, is used on the tips and ends of the skis to ensure greater responsiveness and agility. The Power Sidewall in the "Supreme Instinct" all-mountain ski, on the other hand, guarantees that the ski moves stably during carving. Every HEAD ski comes with its own character. Which one best suits your own has to be found out on icy slopes or in powdery fresh snow.
