Air Max. Air Force. Blazer. Legends of sports history. Legends of street fashion. Hardly any other brand brings the two fashion poles together in a more stylish, relaxed and self-evident way than Nike Sportswear. The swoosh glides as relaxed over the trail and the court as it does over the street and the wooden floor of your favourite bar. Streetstyle meets sporty casualness - Nike Sportswear puts the crown on this mix.
Bill Bowerman had looked at the thing long enough, and changed his point of view regularly. He knew the athletics coach's perspective. He knew the perspective of the shoe seller. Bowerman was allowed to make his own judgment with a clear conscience. And it turned out clearly. Until late in the 1960s, that much was certain for him, athletes had no suitable shoes. At least none that offered them the necessary comfort for absolute top performance.
That's how Bowerman and Phil Knight set to work together in the late 1960s. In 1964 the two had already founded Blue Ribbon Sports together, with which they successfully sold shoes of the Japanese brand Onitsuka Tiger in the States. Now the two bundled their experiences, developed a shoe and finally brought the Cortez onto the market in 1972. Blue Ribbon was history, Nike born. A first step could hardly have been more sustainable. Newcomer Nike grew. fast. It became a giant, today he is considered the biggest sportswear brand on the planet and Nike Sportswear articles like the Cortez have long since become cult.
NIKE SPORTSWEAR PRODUCTS FOR ICONS AND LEGENDS
Nike created icons, becoming an icon himself. Some of the most legendary athletes in history wore and wear Nike Sportswear products. No wonder because sneakers and apparel combine some of the most innovative technologies in the industry. Always with you: The Swoosh. And the question of what is better known: brand or logo, logo or brand? Nike once only paid 35 dollars for the design of the upwardly curved strip. That's how much design student Carolyn Davidson received for her design of the Swoosh in 1971. Today it adorns all Nike Sportswear products. Nike Sportswear articles consciously walk the path away from the track, the court and the pitch. Sports meets Fashion - Nike Sportswear shapes athleisure in pure culture.

This is exactly where Nike Sportswear picks up where it left off and translates its experience from top sports into street fashion, which sports legends like Cristiano Ronaldo then take to the streets themselves. A giving. One take - and you'll get your hands on it too. So you shine with your dynamic hoodie in the meeting, find the right running shorts or the stylish high-quality sneakers for the relaxed lounge evening at Nike Sportswear.
ONE DESIGN CIRCUIT FOR MORE SUSTAINABILITY
Nike also wants to make its sportswear more sustainable in the meantime. For example, the brand creates materials from recycled plastic bottles, uses even more recycled polyester than any other company in the industry. In order to produce as many sustainable products as possible, Nike is also constantly fine-tuning its materials and has even developed a Circular Design Guide. This innovative design cycle is intended to ensure that Nike sportswear articles are also more durable and in the best case even recyclable. As a signatory to the UN's Fashion Industry Climate Charter for Climate Action, the brand is also committed to reducing its emissions by 30 percent by 2030 and to be completely emission-free by 2050.
