Rukka has stood for quality products from Finland for over 70 years. The brand's high-quality outdoor clothing combines optimum functionality and comfort in all weather conditions. No matter if rain or storm, snow or heat - Rukka always gives you the right equipment for running on the way to defy the forces of nature.
NAMED AFTER THE NICKNAME OF THE COMPANY FOUNDER - RUKKA
In 1950 Roger Störling founded a family business for outdoor clothing with the unpronounceable name "AB Sportsbeklädnad Urheiluvaatetus Oy". The first jogging suits are still made in the kitchen of an old farm in Kokkola, a small town on the west coast of Finland. Shortly thereafter, in view of the success of its products, the company moved to a department store in the city centre and began commercial production.
Later on, the range is expanded to include rainproof clothing, primarily for sailors. The name Rukka first appeared in 1966, at that time still with the addition "Products". From 1981 the brand then only operates under the nickname "Rukka" - the nickname of the company founder, which is also taken up in the logo. The flags shown there stand for the letter sequence R-U-K-K-A in the internationally valid flag alphabet - a homage to sailing, the original core business of Rukka.
RUKKA AS PART OF THE L-FASHION GROUP
With the renaming, the family company begins to expand into other business areas using its own technological achievements and delivers more and more Rukka products to the Rukka dealers. This is how the company made a name for itself from the 1980s onwards with robust motorcycle rain suits. At the International Bicycle and Motorcycle Exhibition IFMA in Cologne, Rukka was the first clothing manufacturer to offer waterproof yet breathable textile suits for motorcyclists.
Later on, even the "Rukka Pets" division was added, offering clothes, harnesses and leashes for dogs in the Rukka Sale. Rukka itself has been part of the L-Fashion Group since 1990 - with 240 million annual sales and 1,600 employees one of the largest fashion groups in Scandinavia. The group's brands also include Icepeak, Luhta, Torstai and Sinisalo, which are very popular with numerous outdoor fans as well as golf and snowmobile enthusiasts.

THE RUKKA STORE AT KELLER SPORTS
Thanks to the experience of over 70 years in the field of weatherproof outdoor clothing, Rukka has earned a reputation as a quality manufacturer. Keller Sports therefore also offers the premium products of Rukka online. Like all Rukka articles, the brand's current collections combine practical functionality and enormous comfort with the highest level of safety. In our Rukka Shop we offer mainly running wear of the Finnish brand, in the Rukka Sale often at very attractive prices. With the "Jonah" running tights for men, Rukka offers the perfect running pants for the cold season or on cooler days.
The A.W.S Stretch fabric with mesh inserts at the knees and crotch is extremely comfortable and gives way flexibly by adding elastane at heavily stressed areas. The breathable thermal material dries particularly quickly and helps to regulate moisture perfectly during strenuous activity. Special features are the safety-giving reflective elements, zippers at the leg ends and a practical back pocket with zipper. An elastic waistband with drawstring also ensures maximum wearing comfort.
RUKKA MAIKKULA: LIGHTLY PADDED HYBRID VEST FOR RUNNING TRAINING
The "Maikkula" model is the perfect match: a hybrid vest for running training or for putting on when you go out into the fresh air and want a little extra warmth. When running, the stretch on the sides allows a high degree of freedom of movement, while the windproof and waterproof softshell material efficiently withstands the headwind. The front and back sections are lightly padded, but finished with a stitchless quilting technique that has no pinholes through which water could penetrate. The model for ladies, which you can also find in our Rukka Shop, is called "Marjaniemi".
RUKKA PRODUCTS: TESTED IN THE FINNISH WILDERNESS
What unites all products at Rukka is the claim to always offer the best possible quality. The different materials are tested many times in the wild landscape of Finland under different weather conditions before they reach the Rukka dealer. In addition, professional test teams with many top athletes are used in the development of the prototypes, who contribute their experience and wishes to the Rukka articles. Among them, for example, the Russian Ski Association, for which Rukka is the official supplier.
